PSLE Prep is operated by Studio P2 Pte Ltd, Singapore ("we", "us", "our").
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how parents or guardians can ask us to access, correct, or delete it.
1. Information we collect
We may collect the following information:
- Parent or guardian name and email address
- Login information provided through Google Sign-In
- Child's name, subject, and year level, if provided
- Voice input captured via your device's microphone during practice, diagnostic, and mock exam sessions. We store voice recordings from practice sessions (including daily reading and conversation practice) and mock exam sessions where needed for scoring, re-scoring, reliability, reports, and replay. Diagnostic audio is processed for scoring and then discarded. Stored recordings are retained for up to 12 months from capture (see “Data retention” below) unless you delete them earlier.
- Text transcripts of spoken responses, generated from the voice input described above
- Pronunciation, fluency, language proficiency, and mock-exam scores
- AI-generated feedback, score reports, and learning history
- Usage data related to how you use the website
- Device and browser information
- Cookies and analytics data
If you sign in using Google, we may receive basic profile information such as your email address and name in order to create and manage your account.
We do not access your Google Drive, Gmail, or other Google data.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the PSLE Prep service
- Allow users to log in and access their account
- Provide AI-powered speech-to-text transcription
- Assess pronunciation and language proficiency
- Generate personalised practice feedback and scores
- Let parents and students review reports, transcripts, and stored recordings
- Improve the website and learning experience
- Improve the accuracy of our AI scoring and speech recognition for Singaporean students, using de-identified data
- Monitor performance and prevent misuse
- Communicate important service updates
We never sell personal information, and we never share your child's recordings or personal details with advertisers. We may use recordings and transcripts in de-identified form — with names, emails, and account details removed — to improve our scoring accuracy and to develop speech technology that better understands Singaporean students. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time from your account page (see “Deleting your account” below), or email us for a narrower request such as removing recordings only — no questions asked.
3. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you logged in
- Understand how the site is used
- Improve performance
- Measure the effectiveness of advertising
Specifically, we use:
- Google Analytics (GA4) — to understand how visitors use the site, including pages viewed and navigation patterns
- Meta Pixel — to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram
- Session cookies — to keep you logged in and maintain your session
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the service.
4. Use by minors
PSLE Prep is designed to be used by primary school students preparing for the PSLE Chinese and English oral examinations. Because the service is likely to be used by children, we treat student data as sensitive personal data and apply a higher standard of protection.
A parent or guardian must create the account or start the diagnostic session for the child. For users under the age of 13, parent or guardian consent is required before using the service. By continuing on behalf of your child, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and that you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your child's data as described in this policy.
Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising the use of the service by minors and may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data at any time.
5. Data storage and retention
Data may be stored on secure servers operated by us or by trusted third-party providers.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information.
Stored voice recordings are retained for up to 12 months from capture unless you delete them earlier. Text transcripts, pronunciation assessment payloads, AI-generated feedback, scores, and account data are retained while your account is active so we can provide progress history, reports, and scoring improvements. You can email us to delete stored voice recordings without deleting score history, or to request fuller erasure of transcripts, pronunciation data, feedback, and scores.
Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time from your account page. When you do, any subscription is cancelled immediately so you will not be charged again, and your account is scheduled for deletion. To protect against accidental deletion, your data is held for a 14-day recovery window during which you can reactivate the account by signing back in — after that window your account and all associated data (recordings, transcripts, feedback, scores, and progress) are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
We stop retaining personal data, or remove the means by which it can be associated with an individual, when it is no longer needed for a business or legal purpose.
6. Third-party services
We use third-party services to provide core functionality. These services may process data as necessary to provide their functionality. The categories of services we use include:
- Google Sign-In for authentication
- AI speech-to-text and language processing services
- Pronunciation assessment services
- Email communication platforms
- Hosting and database providers
- Analytics and advertising platforms (Google Analytics, Meta)
7. International data transfers
Some of the third-party services we use are located outside Singapore, including in the United States and other jurisdictions. Your data may be transferred to and processed in these countries in order to provide the service. We take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas recipients of your data are bound by obligations providing a comparable standard of protection to the Personal Data Protection Act 2012.
8. Your rights
Parents or guardians may:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you or your child
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of stored voice recordings at any time
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account page, subject to the 14-day recovery window described above
- Withdraw consent for data collection, use, or disclosure with reasonable notice
If consent is withdrawn or data needed to provide the service is deleted, some features may no longer work and we may need to close or restrict the account.
To exercise any of these rights, please email info@psleprep.sg.
9. Data breach notification
If a data breach occurs, we will assess whether it is notifiable under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 and notify affected individuals and the Personal Data Protection Commission where required.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
